1. A short interview, then we set it up

   We ask about your services, the work you turn away, your area, your hours and how you want callers handled. We write up the answers it may give, build it, and Chris checks the setup before it goes live.

2. Your phone still rings first

   Calls you don't pick up (no answer, line busy or after hours) forward to the receptionist through your phone carrier. Your number stays the same. Chat on your website or directory listing is answered any time.

3. It answers, takes the details and hands off

   Callers hear that it's an AI assistant and that the call is recorded. It collects the name, number and what they need. If a caller asks for you, it can pass the call to your cell during the hours you choose.

You stay in control

The fair worry with any AI on your phone is that it tells a customer something wrong. These are the limits that stop that.

• It never quotes a price you haven't approved. If you don't publish prices, it gives none and says you'll confirm.
• It never promises an arrival time or books a slot on its own. It takes the request, and you confirm.
• It never says yes to work you don't do, an area you don't serve, or a day you're closed.
• It won't answer medical, legal or insurance questions or diagnose a problem; those come to you. A caller who describes a fire or a gas smell is told to call 911.
• It always says it's an AI. Asked whether it's a person, it says no and offers to reach you.
• Those limits are checked in code on every reply before the customer sees or hears it, not just written in its instructions.
• Before it goes live, you read and approve the answers it's allowed to give. For the first week we review every conversation, and when it doesn't know an answer we add yours.
• Every conversation is saved for 90 days, with phone numbers, emails and street addresses removed from the log, so we can check exactly what was said.
• If you ever want it off, one message to us switches it off right away.
