How we research and check these pages
Last updated October 7, 2026.
Our industry guides, such as the SEO by Industry pages, and our research studies are researched and drafted with AI assistance under the direction of Chris S Riddle, who runs OKC SEO. This page explains where the facts come from and how pages are checked.
Where the facts come from
- Search volumes and click prices come from Google Ads keyword data, pulled through DataForSEO. Pages say which month the data covers or when it was pulled.
- Rules and regulations. Where a page quotes a rule, the quote is copied word for word, with the section number where there is one, from the official text or a published copy such as Cornell's Legal Information Institute. Where a page sums up a rule instead of quoting it, the summary is in our words and links to the official text or a published copy so you can read the rule itself.
- Research studies use our own data, such as crawls of sites we run. Each study states the method, date and limits, links its data file, and its numbers are recounted from the raw files by a separate AI review agent before publishing.
- Industry facts come from government data and named industry sources, and each is listed under Sources at the bottom of the page.
Statistics and search figures are traced to a cited source wherever a source exists. If we can't find a source for a statistic, it doesn't go on the page. Some numbers are our own estimates rather than sourced figures, such as how many months SEO work usually takes to show results. Treat those as our guidance, not a promise. Some sources block automated tools; when we could only read a published copy, or could not read the source at all, our notes say so and the item is flagged for a person to check.
How a page is checked
- Automated checks. Scripts check each page for unsupported keyword figures, broken source links, wording that repeats other pages, and filler phrases.
- A first audit by an AI agent. A separate AI review agent, not the one that drafted the page, reads the page against its sources and our page standard. A page that fails is fixed and audited again.
- A second check by another AI agent. A second AI review agent re-checks a sample of each batch, and every page on a regulated topic such as legal, financial or health work. It re-reads the cited sources in context, and checks the page title, description, structured data and image alt text as well as the body text. This check began on October 5, 2026. Pages published before then are being put through it over time.
- A human spot check. From October 2026, Chris S Riddle is sent a few recently published pages across our sites each week to check by hand. Most pages are not individually checked by a person.
Bylines name a real person. We don't list AI as an author.
What these pages are not
Where a page quotes a rule for a regulated profession, it is there to help you ask the right questions. It is not legal or compliance advice. Check anything you plan to publish with your regulator or compliance officer.
Corrections
If you spot a mistake or an out-of-date fact, email chris@okcseo.media. We check the source and correct the page, and the "Updated" date on the page changes when we do.
